Rebecca Piekkari



Rebecca Piekkari is Marcus Wallenberg Chaired Professor of International Business at Aalto University School of Business in Finland.

Through her research, editorial work, and teaching, she has played a central role in advancing language-sensitive research and the use of qualitative methodologies within the field of International Business. Together with her co-authors, she received the Journal of International Business Studies Decade Award in 2021 for a highly influential methodological article on the use of case studies for theory development.

Her current research interests include social and cultural sustainability, people management, and theorizing in International Business. Rebecca is the Founding Member and current Director of the Aalto Center for Qualitative Management Research (Qual+ for short). She is a Fellow of both the European International Business Academy (EIBA) and the Academy of International Business (AIB), and she actively contributes to the international scholarly community through research leadership and academic service.
