TAIMI project presented at the University of Bologna
On 29 April 2026, TAIMI researcher Yannick Lahti delivered a guest lecture at the University of Bologna, Italy, focusing on the intersection of artificial intelligence, political communication, and contemporary societal change.
The lecture explored how AI is transforming political communication, including its implications for public discourse, democratic participation, and the spread of political messages in digital environments. Drawing on his expertise in populist communication, Lahti examined how technological developments are reshaping the ways political actors engage with citizens and influence public debate.

A significant part of the lecture was dedicated to presenting the TAIMI project, introducing its objectives, research themes, and societal relevance to an international academic audience. During the presentation, Lahti discussed TAIMI’s work on technological transformation, AI, migrant skills, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), and the future of work in Finland.
The visit provided an opportunity to exchange ideas with researchers and students at one of Europe’s oldest and most internationally recognised universities. Such international engagement is an important part of TAIMI’s mission to contribute to global discussions on the societal impacts of AI and technological transformation.
By sharing TAIMI’s research internationally, the project strengthens academic collaboration and promotes broader understanding of how AI, migration, and labour market developments are shaping the future of work.
