Shahnaj Begum Presented at the Critical Nodes Project Collaboration and Networking Meeting
On 15 January 2026, Shahnaj Begum participated as a presenter in a Joint Collaboration and Networking Meeting organized within the Critical Nodes Project at the University of Turku (Unioninkatu 37).
During the session, she delivered a presentation entitled “Multiplicity of Cultures of Care: Intersectionality, DEI, and Capabilities in Finnish Elderly Care.” In her presentation, Shahnaj shared recent individual research findings on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in Finnish elderly care. She highlighted how intersectionality and the capabilities approach can deepen understanding of culturally diverse care practices and structural inequalities within the sector.
The meeting provided an opportunity to explore potential synergies and shared research themes with participants from the Critical Nodes Project, strengthening academic collaboration and contributing to broader discussions on inclusive and equitable elderly care systems.
